VBS has come and gone here at Talkeetna. This week has been great! Children came from near and far this week. We had one family that walked a trail from their home to the river, took a 45-minute boat ride and then traveled 12 miles by car to reach the church.
The children seemed to have a great time, and so did we. We were very glad to see one soul saved and others asking questions. Pray for a kid that was in my class that showed a real interest in the thing of the Lord. His name is Brandon. In fact, when Mr. B asked if we should have another week of VBS he was the first to raise his hand.
We enjoyed seeing the sights of Talkeetna and the surrounding area. The weather here in Alaska has been very nice yet almost unreal to me (Justin Stauss) because I am used to very hot weather this time of year, (103 degrees is not unusual at my home in Texas) We also enjoyed an evening of fellowship with the Durhams and even got to shoot a couple of handguns which is one personal favorite. Being the only other guy on the team is a new experience for me, coming from a family of six boys and two girls. I would say I’m being educated.
From Talkeetna, we will head to North Pole Alaska where we will hold our third VBS. Thank you for your prayers. Please pray for our next VBS, that that the children will understand what is taught and come to know Jesus Christ as there personal Lord and Savior.
